Dr. Brenda Larson-Mitchell
Interim Superintendent
2022-2023
High School ELA Review and Selection Committee Team
As a member of the High School ELA Review and Selection Committee Team, I played a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the new CCSD-required ELA Text for the next seven years, ensuring alignment with CCSD and Common Core State Standards while fostering diversity in student studies. Our collaborative efforts culminated in the selection of Savvas MyPerspective, setting the stage for an enriched English Language Arts curriculum poised to benefit students for years to come.
2023-2024
Teacher Clarity Review Committee
As a member of the Teacher Clarity Review Committee, I engaged in identifying essential, grade-level standards crucial for student learning, actively analyzing and selecting standards to ensure alignment with educational objectives and student needs. The standards we identified now serve as the foundation for instructional transformation, guiding educators in ensuring mastery and application for all students.
2024-2025
The Leadership and Professional Learning Division
The Leadership and Professional Learning Division is coordinating a Teaching and Learning Conference at Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts on September 14, 2024, aiming to showcase effective instructional strategies aligned with district standards to enhance student achievement. Leveraging my expertise in the Tier I curriculum, I co-facilitate an 80-minute session focused on CCSD Teaching and Learning Cycle components: plan, teach, assess, analyze, or respond. The anticipated outcome is yet to be announced.
